Promoting A Home Business Opportunity

So you've just joined your first home business opportunity.
Whether it's your first network program or your tenth, making an
effort and spending some money are a must. But what do yo do now?
Now that you are ready to give it your best effort? Read on, my
friend...

There are effective ways to promote your opportunity both online
and offline. Putting consistent effort into your promotions can
give you a steady stream of prospects and new sign ups. There is
a good bit of turnover in a network business opportunity. This
means many people give up and move on to another program quickly.
The only way to compensate for this is to have a steady stream of
new prospects coming in at all times. You will get this stream of
leads through consistent promotions.

Traditionally, network programs have been promoted to a warm
market (real world face to face contact). This contact can be a
personal one on one meeting or just a casual mention in an
elevator. Group meetings can include a few people to as many as
hundreds of people. The party theme has long been a successful
way to promote a business opportunity while making direct sales
of products or services.

Another traditional way to find prospects for your business
opportunity is by purchasing leads. You can get the name,
address, email and phone number of a person that requested
information on starting a home business. Then it's up to you to
contact them. You can send a letter or postcard, call them on the
telephone or send an email. Just make sure that you know the
rules before sending email or calling a US phone number.

With the internet came many more options for marketing your home
business. one of the cheapest and most effective methods of
promoting a network program is by placing ads in email
newsletters and ezines that deal with the subject of home
business opportunities. Often you can place and ad at the top of
a newsletter that goes out to from 5,000 to 50,000 readers for
$50US or less. You will get an even better response using
exclusive "solo" mailings. Pay a bit more but have the total
attention of the entire readership. Solo ads are used
successfully by many internet marketers selling many different
kinds of products. They will work for your network program, too.

Use ezine ads to drive targeted prospects to your lead capture
website, where they can sign up for a free report or ecourse by
email. Then you can send them follow up messages, which will
increase your sign up rate and decrease your workload.

Writing articles about an aspect of home business or network
marketing can get you free promotion on hundreds of websites and
in email newsletters. Simply write about something that would be
helpful to your target prospect, add a short promotional message
about your business with a link to your website, then submit your
article to announcement lists and free content websites. This is
one of the best online promotion methods you will find.

If you can't write articles, have someone do it for you and have
them include your by-line and website link at the end. Such
writers for hire are known as ghostwriters and are readily
available online.

Another option you have for placing ads is to bid on keywords at
some of the pay per click search engines. You can have an ad
campaign up and running on Google AdWords in just a few hours
that targets home business and opportunity seekers. For
competitive keywords, you can pay as much as $10 a click for each
lead, so be careful. Start out small and build your bids as you
grow. There are many factors that determine the maximum amount
you should pay for a click and still be profitable. Overpaying
for ad clicks will drain your advertising budget faster than you
can imagine, potentially putting you out of business.

Everyone has their own personality and style. Some methods used
to promote a home business may work for you and some may not.
Initially, go with what works. But remember that just because you
don't want to do something, that doesn't mean you shouldn't be
doing it. Many successful people have become so by doing things
that others were not willing to do.
